Santa Barbara Event Calendar

Local Events, Festivals, Concerts, & More

Whatever time of year you visit Santa Barbara, guests can enjoy year-round sunshine, ocean views and laid-back luxury at Bacara Resort, as well as an abundance of festivals, concerts and special events.

  • Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Starting with the star-studded Santa Barbara International Film Festival held annually in January and February, visitors flock to the area to enjoy this highly-anticipated 11-day celebration of cinema. Every year, SBIFF presents a diverse slate of more than 200 films to over 70,000 film enthusiasts, including industry professionals, regional film fans, and a large student population. Bacara is a proud sponsor of this spectacular event.

  • California Wine Festival

With some of California’s finest wines made nearby, Santa Barbara is no stranger to a good glass of wine. This event salutes our local wineries, as well as food, music, the ocean and the sun. Held annually in July, it’s the largest outdoor wine festival in California and worth planning your trip around!

  • Summer Solstice Celebration and Parade

In a town that enjoys over 300 days of sunshine annually, it’s fitting that an entire festival is devoted to ringing in the longest day of the year and the first day of this beloved season – summer. For a long weekend, Alameda Park erupts into a bounty of vibrant costumes, live world music, dancing, food, arts and crafts and a children’s festival. This June, experience it all during Saturday’s carnival-like parade down old-famous State Street.

  • Old Spanish Days Fiesta

Santa Barbara’s Spanish roots run deep. Recognized as one of the five best regional festivals in the United States, “Fiesta” has been a cornerstone celebration of the area’s Spanish and Mexican heritage for over 80 years.

Today, it is a five-day soiree of festive Spanish and Mexican dance, song, tradition, food and even real gauchos at the live rodeo that is held every August.

  • California Avocado Festival

The California Avocado Festival, or AVOFEST, features three days of fun and guacamole! Santa Barbara County is the third largest avocado producer in North America, and every October in the heart of downtown Carpinteria, the Avocado Festival features fabulous food, terrific music and great family fun.

  • Goleta Lemon Festival

Enjoy food, family entertainment and a twist of lemon at the Goleta Lemon Festival. Held September 28-29, 2013 (usually in October) to celebrate California’s lemon crop, the weekend also includes the Goleta Fall Classic Car and Street Rod Show, pie-eating contests and arts and crafts vendors. Bacara’s Chefs are onsite to offer a taste of this local treasure.
